Note to All Newsletter Subscribers
A short note.
For about two years, I have committed to publishing a newsletter every Tuesday morning (my time), no matter what. This approach has worked wonders for me, and I would recommend it to anyone starting out. By knowing that I have to consistently deliver every week, writer’s block or lack of inspiration has not been an option. Working under this kind of restraint and self-imposed pressure forces the creativity to come through, and it’s a great way of holding oneself accountable to produce new work consistently.
When I made the commitment to publish every Tuesday, I had a vague sense of hope that I could one day cover some of my monthly living costs through writing a newsletter on Substack. I expected it to be a very difficult task, but it was even more difficult than expected. The growth of my publication has been very slow this year, very slow, even though I have done everything in my power to experiment with different kinds of posts, podcasting, etc.
I have played around with the idea of hopping over to another platform, but honestly, I don’t think it will make that much of a difference. The truth is that making a living off online writing is just very, very hard, and requires a tremendous amount of effort. For someone like me with an antagonistic attitude towards social media, who values privacy, and have no experience in branding and marketing, becoming an online influencer of sorts was never the natural choice.
I say all of this to explain why I will no longer commit to a steady publishing schedule. I have one left in the bag for next Tuesday, but that will be it. From now on I will publish short posts and long posts, paid posts and free posts perhaps twice a week, once every other week, once a month, depending on what I feel like. That is how most people use Substack anyway. As a general rule, you will only find a mail from me in your inbox, when I feel like I can ad value to your life through my knowledge and expertise. If Futuristic Lawyer by some miracle should gain a lot of traction, I may go back to a fixed posting schedule. But I don’t count on it. By not having to perform consistently, I’ll have more time and freedom to go deeper into specific topics and projects that interest me.
That was all.
Stay blessed.

Great respect for those who keep high, quality and creativity, in such a long writing journey, as you did and you'll keep doing. Thanks!
Appreciate all the work and dedication you put in! It is hard to make it here
