Hi stranger👋

You are likely reading this message because you want to learn more about the work that I do.

On Futuristic Lawyer I write about the knowledge gap between big tech companies and democratic institutions. One of my favourite quotes is by Andrew Grove, former CEO of Intel:

"High tech runs three-times faster than normal businesses, and the government runs three-times slower than normal businesses. So, we have a nine-times gap"

This nine-times gap is the space I want to explore with Futuristic Lawyer and you are hereby invited to join me.

Each Tuesday morning at 6:30 CET (Central European Time) I send out a newsletter where I share legal and ethical insights about new developments in tech (namely IT). I usually write long essays (typically 1.500-3.500 words) but I deliberately try to make my writing personal and stimulating and avoid boilerplate language.

Examples of topics I cover:

  • AI’s impact on law and society

  • The effects of social media and modern information technology on human life and cognition

  • Tech regulation in the EU and the US

  • Technology vs. human rights

  • Commentary on recent tech-legal developments

  • Analysis and summaries of groundbreaking papers, reports, books, or articles in the space I cover

Every last Tuesday of the month, I send out a full post to free subscribers, the rest are protected by paywalls. Generally, I don’t like to build walls but my mission is to establish this newsletter as a paid service.

If you are curious to learn more, I recommend you take a 7-day free trial so you can browse through the archive, or better yet, subscribe for 1 month to find out if this is something you need.

You can find me on LinkedIn here. Feel free to reach out with comments or questions.

- Tobias
