A Short Introduction

On Futuristic Lawyer I write about human rights and IT. It often has to do with the “nine-times gap” between big tech companies and democratic institutions. As former CEO of Intel, Andrew Grove said:

"High tech runs three-times faster than normal businesses, and the government runs three-times slower than normal businesses. So, we have a nine-times gap"

Each Tuesday morning at 6:30 CET (Central European Time) I send out a newsletter where I share legal and ethical insights about new developments I usually write long essays (∼1,500-3,500 words) but I deliberately try to make my writing personal and engaging.

Examples of topics I cover:

  • AI’s impact on law and society

  • The effects of social media and modern information technology on human life and cognition

  • Tech regulation in the EU and the US

  • Technology vs. human rights

  • Commentary on recent tech-legal developments

  • Analysis and summaries of groundbreaking papers, reports, books, or articles in the space I cover.
